My name is Marie Jensen (née Wickman), originally from Sweden and now based in Béziers, in the south of France.

My journey with the Devon Rex began in 1982, when I first discovered these extraordinary cats. With their playful personalities, large ears, and soft, curly coats, it was love at first sight — a passion that has stayed with me ever since.

A Lifelong Passion for the Devon Rex

After several years of dreaming, my first Devon Rex arrived in 1991 — a beautiful blue male, VEIDALS Roussillion, who truly captured my heart.

I was fortunate to be closely connected to the early development of the breed in Sweden through my family ties to the FIFe-registered VEIDALS cattery, founded by my late mother-in-law, Tove Jensen. Together with my father-in-law Freddy, they were among the first breeders in Sweden to import Devon Rex cats from the UK pioneers who helped establish and preserve this unique breed.

One special highlight remains particularly meaningful to me:

Their first Devon import, Stefanus Lyx, and the male Berilleon Perky they brought in trace directly back to Kirlee—the legendary founder of the entire Devon Rex breed—in just the 4th generation! (I still treasure that precious pedigree.)

This connection deepened my appreciation for the breed’s history and genetic heritage.

From First Breeding to Today

In 1994, I officially registered my own prefix, S*GIGGLE’S, and began breeding Devon Rex kittens with a strong focus on quality, temperament, and responsible practices. I bred under this name until 2006, and also worked with CFA under the name Q-T-CURLS.

After a 10-year break from breeding, I returned in 2024 with renewed passion, experience, and dedication. Today, I continue to raise a small number of Devon Rex kittens in a loving home environment, with a strong focus on health, temperament, and well-being.

Breeding Philosophy

At Giggle’s Devon Rex, health and well-being always come first.

All breeding follows FIFe and LOOF standards, with careful attention to:

• health testing
• temperament
• responsible, small-scale breeding

Our kittens are raised as part of the family, ensuring they grow into affectionate, confident, and well-balanced companions.

A Small, Dedicated Cattery

Giggle’s Devon Rex is intentionally small, allowing me to give each kitten the individual care and attention they deserve.

Today, I collaborate with trusted breeders who share the same values, helping to preserve and improve this unique and special breed.
